ABOUT DRUMMORE & THE SHIP INN

ship inn

Drummore is in the South Rhins, near the Mull of Galloway and The Ship Inn is situated near Drummore's quiet beach and small harbour. The Ship Inn has been recently renovated and refurbished, to create a traditional bar downstairs and a bright, modern Bistro on ' the upper deck '.

Drummore is the most southerly village in Scotland, enjoying the mild Gulf Stream climate with delightful local gardens such as Logan Botanic Gardens and Ardwell. There are plenty of countryside walks, cycling routes, birdwatching hotspots and fishing opportunities available amongst other quiet delights in this idyllic part of Dumfries & Galloway. If you visit the Mull of Galloway there are walking trails around the RSPB reserve with stunning views towards the Lake District, Ireland and the Isle of Man. Find out more about the Mull of Galloway on the Mull of Galloway site - there's also a page on Drummore. Also check out the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse Webcam.

So, follow the A716 down to Drummore, turn left at the junction on Mill Street, and left again down by the harbour...you are sure to be given a warm welcome by our friendly, efficient staff.

 THE RESTAURANT

restaurant

In our modern Bistro restaurant we try to source all our food local to Drummore, or at least within Scotland, with delicious cheeses, fish, fresh vegetables and meat literally grown on our doorstep. We offer a variety of daily 'specials' to tempt you further. We also have gorgeous home made desserts! We serve meals prepared by our chef on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings, as well as Friday, Saturday & Sunday lunchtimes. Open daily throughout the year: noon - 2.30pm and 6pm - 8.30pm, last orders for meals.

THE BAR

bar

In our traditional bar we serve draught beers, including Belhaven, John Smiths, Guinness etc., as well as a variety of other beverages. These can be savoured on their own or used to accompany our freshly prepared food.

We open at 11am in summer, for fairly traded coffee and tea, as well as alcohol, bar snacks and light meals, which are available daily at lunchtimes and evenings.

All our meals are available in either the bar or the restaurant upstairs.

EVENTS

We are introducing regular musical and literary events to Drummore in the Ship Inn. You will find details of these below updated regularly.

By popular demand, Roxanne is back on the late Bank Holiday weekend, Saturday 24th May from 9.30pm.
Why not book a table in the Bistro and make a special evening of it?
Please note, there will be no dining downstairs, except in special circumstances, by prior arrangement, on this event.

Now that the special Kirkmaiden Luncheon Club on Thursdays, has finished for the summer months, we would like to confirm that we are open for normal hours on Thursdays, with kitchens offering food at noon until 2.30pm and from 6 - 8.30pm, as on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We will be very happy to see our old friends, and hopefully some new ones, using the pub as a meeting place throughout the summer. As the summer progresses we will be opening more frequently throughout the week offering food in the bar and in the bistro. Ask our staff for details!

We'd like to welcome more people to our Quiz Night in the bar on Thursdays at 8pm, when curry and chips and other bar meals are on offer (to help get the brain cells working overtime). Fun and prizes are guaranteed, with Eric finding the questions and relishing the groans of quiz teams when he poses the brainteasers...
